Why OpenBASE:
The biggest question that is to be asked is why. Why should
users make the switch from coding their own applications from
scratch and start using OpenBASE. The answer is simple. Using
OpenBASE saves time, effort, and, if your time is money, money!
Why spend the extra time and effort trying to redevelop the wheel
when you already have a free one at your disposal? Not only that,
but this "wheel" has may even have features you would have never
thought to program that may even become useful to you!
Some background gabber
My idea for OpenBASE started a while ago when I was developing a
website for a spanish teacher. I wanted to start using OOP more
and at the same time I wanted to be able to run a game i was also
programming off it. This was the birth of the "BASE" idea. If I
could somehow create this base, or foundation for my projects to
run off I will save time and worry about the content not the stupid
login scripts and reconfiguring Smarty half-a-million times. Three
months after I had the engine working, stable, and tweaked to my liking,
I decided to give back to the community that helped me get where I am now.
Thus the idea to start configuring this base for the general open-source
public came to be...
